August Result: £2049.07

Yes that figure is correct and not a typo, I managed to smash my previous best month by more than £1200 seeing that my previous best alone was just over £800 it's a pretty big jump.
A fair bit of this profit came from 1 race where I made something like £360 with a matched bet (which a fair few of them I will just lay off the initial back stake and commission amount and leave the rest of it on the 1 horse). I also managed to find a fair few decent arbs which made £20+ a race as well.

Trading has again been on the back burner this month although I did manage a nice £43.34 on the F1 and £49.36 on the Football which is a new thing I've been looking at getting into this month as I watch a fair bit of football and so I can trade on that while watching it. I'm not sure what I've made trading the horses but I would say it's £20+.

Also thanks to the matched betting my Betfair account is in a big negative so I won't be seeing the Betfair Premium Charge in a while hopefully.

Hoping September will be a half decent month but seeing as the horse card is pretty much cut in half now I'm not expecting anything amazing.

I've not had much chance to post recently as I've been busy with other things and so trading has been put on the back burner although I've done a bit of matched betting and Arbing in the spare time I have had.
When I have traded I made £3.23 on the Tennis, £14.28 on the Golf and £39.35 on F1 and I've also done a few trades on the Premiership winners market like last year and have built up nearly £7000 on 8 of the outsiders which I will then use to Dutch the other teams so hope to make £20 ish back from the £7000 I'm up on these outsiders as lets be honest they have no hope of winning it, I've also done a few trades on Big Brother but nothing like the amount of last year so won't even get close to last years total but will hopefully end up in a profit anyway. So only just over £50 profit from trading overall in the last 2 months but like I've said I've done next to no trading at all and I'm more than happy with the money I made overall from matched betting and a few arbs.
Hopefully this or next month I will be able to get back to trading a lot more and topping up my balance.

May Result: £810.89 (total)

Well just recorded my highest ever profit in a month mostly all down to matched betting, although a nice piece did come from Britains Got Talent £71.08 (made £36.24 from this last year as well) so made a nice increase in profit this year than last although I was on earlier this year it was more than I expected using a £50 bank.
Out of the May Result £93.99 of it was from trading so I will take that since I've not really been trading much/at all due to the matched betting I'm very happy with this.

May Result: £485.75 (so far)

A cracking start to my matched betting for the first part of this month a total profit of £485.75 with just around £10 of it coming from trading as I've not had the time.
Again I've added a screen shot although I doubt I will bother from now on as with the matched betting it doesn't give a true pic of whats happening, as I pointed out in my last post with regards to the Premiership Winners Market, I'm now almost £400 up on that (although this will eventually end up around £120 overall when all the teams are ruled out and all the bets are settled)
The great thing about all these matched betting winners is that my profits on Betfair are taking a big big hit and now my total charges % for Betfair is a huge 48.72% overall now so I'm well away from being close to getting hit by the Betfair Premium Charge for now.

April Result: £506.73

Well as reported in previous post I've not had much chance to trade recently and so have concentrated almost fully on matched betting instead and have made a very good profit from this and because of the profit from this I've decided to rightly concentrate on this in my spare time. I've included a print screen on the month but it doesn't show the true story at all, all the loses on the Horses are due to matched betting and £50 of the Greyhound profit is from matched betting as well.
Still even without trading much I've managed 95.36 profit from trading with most of this coming from F1 although the 2nd and 3rd race I did were very disappointing and not many chances for me, although it says I've only made £11.90 this month I'm actually much higher than that as I've been playing with the premiership winners market all season and when a club is unable to mathematically win the title they then settle all bets on that team and as such I am -£40.75 on the Prem winners market for the month but with the way it works that money goes onto the teams left and so that money will be coming back to me when teams can no longer win it, for instance after today Arsenal will probably be officially be out of the title race this weekend and as such I have layed them for £2043 and backed them for £1553 so when that happens again it will have me up by a big amount but overall because of the way they payout as I've mentioned above this is not the case as both Liverpool and Chelsea I have backed for more than what I've layed so then when they are ruled out it will show I've lost money from those 2 when this is not the case.
Around £400 though from matched betting this month is a great result which I'm very happy with especially as my stakes are very small not only that but it is helping me keep my premium charge 'allowance' on Betfair as currently my Total Charges % is now at 36.77% which is perfect for me (before just trading it was around 6%) so as long as it stays around 20% I am more than happy as nothing will come off my allowance.
Due to the matched betting this is also my best month profit wise so very happy with that, hopefully if I don't get gubbed I will be able to improve on that.

Well again I've not had much chance to do an update on the blog and not had the chance to do much trading either so just a quick update on the profit and loss since then, although the print screen will say I have made more money that it says above this is not really the case as the extra money is from matched betting.

Haven't had much chance to update the blog recently due to work so basically this post is a monthly update instead (£63.71 of the above amount was in Jan and the other £31.89 is up to yesterday in Feb so I've updated my figures accordingly), all you eagle eyed people will notice that on the first screenshot the profit is showing as £522.47 although I wish this was the case it is not it is simply down to matched betting and the profit for that screen shot with trading is actually £37.26. The other screen shot is my other account which I've been using to trade the correct score market on the football (this account doesn't usually get used as I don't have BetAngel on this account and the way I trade inplay on the correct score market I don't need it) and the whole £60 odd is trading, which has gone pretty darn well considering that I've only done 5 matches and used a bank of just £40 (all I had left in this account, like I said I doesn't get used) so to more than double my bank I'm very happy with it, I got the idea for this after seeing a video for correct score trading and thought I would give it a go, anyway hope its going well for everyone and I should be back to updating much faster than last month.

Only had chance to trade the greyhound markets today but only had 3 losing races for 87p, all in all I'm very happy with that and the profit I made. I still had the same old problem of using £10 stakes but didn't get matched with the full amount that often so I still have room for larger profit. I like trading the greyhound markets though as there is so many of them during the day that if I am free to trade then these markets are normally available.

Well I traded a few races today and got away with a nice profit. I'm trying to trade on the favs/2nd favs etc more as with the outsiders I struggle to even get £5 matched before someone jumps ahead of my price. I was doing well until the 18:00 ish when I took a few hits on the greyhound market and so when I made a profit on 1 after and saw that I had made £11 on the greyhound market I decided to call it a day add to that £2.60 from 6 horse markets I've got to be happy with £13.60 profit from £10 stakes (although £5 with the greyhounds and although I was still not getting fully matched I was getting more money matched than normal).

A couple of things to point out today, from the image you will see that I used 2 accounts as I was still waiting for a couple of matches on the premiership winners market by the time X-Factor had started and so decided to use the other account I have which had £100 in it which I used to trade the X-Factor on the last show. I won £119 on my main account and £20 trading it in the other account on the last show again just using the bookmaking option in BetAngel, this has also pushed me well over the £1000 profit since the start so I'm very happy with this. Account will also be getting another boost this weekend with SCD coming to an end so another £50+ will be added to the total. I also do matched betting everyday which is very easy to do and makes me a few £ everyday so I'm thinking of adding this to the blog as well (under another section).

Just a few races traded today for a profit of £5.83 although TBH I could and should of got so much more in the last race I was £10 up on 1 horse (if it won) after I got out after just 1 tick as I had to go downstairs and so took that price but I could of easily got 8 ticks so could of got another £50 from it as it won and I layed the horse at 1.2, happy with nearly £6 profit from just 5 races though using £10 stake.

As promised in the previous post here is my updated screen shots from the SCD, X Factor and Premiership winners markets, the SCD market is pretty much dead now so I doubt anymore trading will be done on this market unless the back % of the market falls to close to 100% as then I can make some more money from it. I'm very happy with all these markets though as TBH I was only looking at making a 50% return on each of these markets and I've made more than that on each market already (£100 bank on these markets)

OK not had much time to do any proper trading for a while hence no updates and when I have had a hr or so I've been looking at using the ladder interface and seeing how the markets work with more of the favourites (my normal style of trading was the outsiders but now I'm looking at putting more money into the market and for this obviously I would need to do it where the money is and that's in the top 3 horses). Anyway 3 races traded for £2.42 but it all adds up and will help me build my confidence back up so I can't complain. I will also post up my Strictly Come Dancing, Premiership Winners and X-Factor markets current screenshots which I've been doing with the bookmaking function within BetAngel Pro as normal when I've had a few moments and they are going pretty well (although SCD is pretty much dead now since X-Factor has started)

Well actually it's a couple of days but I didn't get round to posting before, traded something like 10 races in all the problem I have is that the way I trade most of the time I look for drifters and when I get a bet matched someone jumps ahead of the rest of my money and so I sometimes only get a few £ matched and so make little profits here and there. TBH quite often I make 50p a race and 9times out of 10 that's having just £2-£3 matched so going by that it's a good return but like I said if I got more matched I could get a lot better returns so I'm looking for other ways of trying to get my money taken or to change my way of trading.
Anyway enough ranting I will also do another post after this one showing my SCD market.

Just thought I would post a little update on my current situation in the Premiership winners market currently I'm £7+ up on every team in the market after using a £100 bank so that's not a bad return, as you will see though I'm £3900 on 10 teams and as anyone who follows the premiership will know only the top 4 teams really have a chance and that's being generous. Most people look at the £3900 on the 'no hopers' as pointless as they wont win it but using 'dutching' I will be looking at getting £15+ extra profit on the other teams so boost up my profits, so hopefully that will take my top 4 teams profit to around £25 from my £100 bank so if I get that it will be a great return of 25%.
I will also post a screen shot on my Strictly Come Dancing market after the first show on Sat.

Well I had most of my bank tied up in the Strictly Come Dancing market so I went into the place markets with just over £2 and in the 2 races by backing and laying I managed to get 2 free bets of £4 and £5 (normally I green up for a guaranteed profit but because I knew I was only going to do a few races I decided that instead of getting a few pence I would leave in a lay @2 in both the races for half the amounts and both of them got matched (or at least they would of if I had remembered that I needed to select the bet to stay in play when the race started on the first race) luckily though it went on to be placed so I got the full £4 in the first race and £2.50 in the 2nd race leaving me with £6.30 after the 2 races not bad for a £2 bank.

Unfortunately didn't get the chance to trade the F1 races last weekend as the football was on and I wanted to watch it. so far this week I've only managed to trade today and that wasn't very much, in fact it was only 5 races for the £2.53 profit, on the plus side I've been trading on the Premiership winner and although I'm currently only £3 up on everyone with the lays I have placed in the market I should be able to turn that into £15+ when the back market falls close to 100%. Well Big Brother has finally finished and although I can't stand watching the rubbish it sure was good to me trading wise. I ended up winning £159.55 using just a £60 bank on the market.
The result would also of been higher by over £10 on the horses but I forgot to put a back on a horse after leaving a lay in and it went on to be placed and I could of had another £10-£15 on the F1 qualifying but my phone rang and I missed a lay on Massa when he was in provisional pole and so didn't green up on him but I can't complain getting nearly 50% return on my bank for that as well especially as it was around £24 for 30mins so called work.
Hopefully I will get the chance to trade on the actual F1 race tomorrow but I don't know yet.

Here is my update for my trading on the Big Bro markets my initial target when I first started was £60 (that was the original trading bank I used for it), it's quite close to the end now so I'm very tempted to just leave it is as I currently have it as I'm very happy with the profit from it although I have to say I am tempted to go for £120 profit and so get a 200% return on the bank I started it with.

Managed to trade a little on the Golf for a nice profit as I've said before I find it pretty easy to make nice returns on Golf, F1 and reality TV programs as using a £60 bank on the Golf I managed to return the above profit which is over a 33% return on the bank, also baring a huge feckup by myself I will be getting a very nice return on big brother using the same £60 bank although there is still a while to go I am currently up at least £42 on everyone and a few of them I am £1500-£2000 up on (although they have been voted off I've been told that in previous Big Brothers that people have been put back in the house so I'm hoping this will be the case so I can clean up on 1 of them), personally I never watch any of this reality TV rubbish but they do seem to be pretty much a licence to print money.

Well I managed to trade on the F1 GP while watching it for a nice profit and also had a few trades on both the Women's and Men's Golf tournaments that took place today, I also traded 1 game in the tennis but then decided I really couldn't be bothered. I really wish there was F1 and the last day of a Golf tournament on everyday of the week as I can make a nice healthy profit on both of these events quite easy (certainly requires less concentration from me than what I need on the horses), well these last 2 days I almost doubled my bank and prob traded about 2 hours in total, in fact if Massa hadn't retired so close to the end of the race I would of got nearly £50 from that but decided to gamble as I was up on everybody and he was winning the race quite comfortably I would let that ride.

Well I've not been able to trade much the last few weeks so I've withdrawn a fair bit of money and left just under £60 in my Betfair account.

Basically I traded the qualifying for the F1 GP with my full bank of near £60 and made £28.88 on it in 30mins so I'm very happy with that as I nearly increased my bank by 50% in 1/2 hr, will hopefully trade the actual race tomorrow as well but that tends to be less volatile than the qualifying so I very much doubt I will get much from that at all, might try to trade the Golf as well if I get the chance as I tend to make a fair bit from Golf, F1 and any reality TV final rubbish (which I don't watch) as near the end of these events the prices shoot up and down a lot.

Well I should of had a much better result than I did, basically like normal I layed all the Golfers in the Open Championship for a guaranteed profit (or at least it would of been if Betfair had removed the people who were not taking part which they said they do as soon as the players are announced but this is clearly not the case as I layed the market at least 4 hours after the players along with Teeoff times were announced), anyway this basically left me £80 down on most but £3000 up on the outsiders, well the legendary G Norman was one of these players and after day 1 his odds were down to 100-1 so I thought geez I will lay those odds for £30 back as he won't be able to keep it up, well he basically did till the end of day 3 and his odds dropped to 5 at the time so if I kept the bet going till then I could of layed off for a guaranteed profit of £500+, but not to worry I'm just happy I managed to trade the market to end up £11.36 on the golf, I also managed to lay the whole market on F1 for a guaranteed profit of £15.11 in that as well so for a few mins of button clicking I'm happy with that as well.
all in all I can't complain and these 2 markets which I traded for 30mins max have paid for most of BetAngel for the month.

Well I've not had much time to trade recently so I've decided to leave just £100 in my Betfair account and go from there and see how much I can get by basically leaving my selections in the market and then offsetting after I've entered the market, a 13% return on the first day is good enough for me but I really don't expect such a good return for about 5mins work in total (although don't get me wrong I'm more than happy with that but trading this way I'm far more likely to have losing days than when I'm watching the market.

Well I've not really had much time to trade the horses the last few days so decided to trade in the Tennis matches instead and because of the volume of the markets and the fact I know which way the odds are likely to go (shorten in this case) then I can back first for a lot more money than what I can do with the horses where I have no idea how good each horse is and so look for drifters and so lay money first so can't get a much money matched and so the profits are smaller (especially as someone nearly always jumps ahead when my money starts getting taken).
All in all I'm very happy with this amount of profit and these first few days of the month have already beaten both of the trading on the previous 2 months.

Well again I only managed to trade 4 races today for £3.20 profit but although the average profit per race was there I seemed to trade poorly (or the trades went against me put it that way) and TBH I was lucky to walk away with a profit today it could of so easily been my first overall loss in a day so I will take any profit that I can get.
*update* I managed to trade 2 races at the end of the day as well for another £2.16 profit from the 2 races and these turned out much better than the ones earlier today and went my way quickly.

Well a pretty uneventful trading day for me today with £9.21 profit but that was from 9 races so over £1 profit each race average so I'm happy with that especially as like normal I only got fully matched in 1 race for £3.11 profit, not bad since my lay and back amounts were £10. I always lay first as for me it's much easier to spot a drifter in the market so although I can't put as much on as I could if I backed first I do pretty much get it right most of the time (take today for instance I made a profit in them all and *touch wood* have still not had a day where I have lost money.

My Internet also went back up to 1meg today so hopefully thats it sorted for a while now I am tempted to try to lower the SNR on my line to squeeze a bit more speed out of it (was on 1.4meg last week for the first time in about 3 years) but I think I will leave it as although thats no doubt slow for most people I'm used to it and it's more than adequate for me.

Well my internet has finally updated to 0.5meg so I was finally able to trade again after a short lay off.
I made my highest total in a day just trading the horses although that was probably because I did trade in 19 races and I would of actually made a few £ more but in the last race my internet froze for 10 seconds and at the time I was able to back the horse I wanted at 20 which would of allowed me to trade out for £1 profit ish but instead when the net came back the price had changed to 15 and meant that I actually lost £1.35 which was disappointing (although could of been worse as like normal I didn't get all my amount matched)but overall I'm happy with the amount I made especially when as I've said before a lot of the time I only get matched for £5 or so if all my bets got matched by the full amount each time I would make 4 or 5 times as much as I do but hey sometimes I do get fully matched or close to fully matched so I can't complain (you can tell those ones easily on my profit/loss screen shot as those are the ones where I make £2-£3 in 1 race).
Now £17.28 might not sound a lot and TBH it's not but I do my trading normally while I'm at my computer working anyway so if I wasn't able to trade anyway the money would only be sat in the bank earning me around 10p a month so I would take doing this for £200 a month rather than letting it sit in the bank earning me 10p and TBH I actually quite enjoy trading on Betfair and it's always nice to see my balance in Betfair going up.

Well my Internet connection is 0.1-0.2meg so at the moment it's pretty much impossible for me to trade so I managed only 1 trade on the Golf for just £1.14 when I was hoping for quite a bit more, I did also manage 1 trade on the Le Mans 24hr for £3.99 profit so making the £5.13 in total, hopefully my Internet profile will change very shortly as I'm synced so much higher.
On a more positive note total profit has just gone over £200 and at the moment *touch wood* I've yet to have a losing day.

Well thanks to a powercut my router has resynced at a stunning 0.2meg (my line for some reason always comes back with a stupidly high noise margin if it has to be reset/loses power (in this case it came back with a noise margin of 27.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!, my line has always been stable at 6 so why it does this I dont know so I have to manually bring the noise margin down to get it to resync at a faster speed, It's currently resycned at 0.8meg but the way BT work it is that it will take a few days to go upto that speed as it makes sure the line is stable so not only am I missing out on trading the horses but I am missing out on the US Open which finishes this weekend and I was hoping to make a nice chunk of cash from that as I have done the previous Golf tournements.
Result is from Fri as well by the way and not Sat, it was so slow yesterday that I couldn't even get it to load up this blog lol, anyway £3.48 from 4 races is an average of 87p so at least the average I'm getting from a race is going up, I just wish my money would get taken quicker as quite often I only get a few £ matched before someone pops ahead of my odds and it never normally goes back to my odds again so I only get around 1/5th - 1/4 of what I could do if it all gets matched, if you see some of my previous days when I've made around £3 in a race thats normally because most or all of my amount has been matched.

Well since starting this blog this is now my best day trading (for just the horses) and I traded pretty darn well for over £15 profit in only 12 races (all profitable ones) which is an average of £1.25 a race which OK is not a huge amount but as I've said before just 1 of those races pays for BetAngel for the day and I actually quite enjoy doing this and making some money on Betfair and I'm getting a much better return on my money doing this than if I left it in my bank, (If I left the £150 in my bank that I started with I would of made a few pence interest on that using that same amount of money I've made over £190 now and although a calender month is basically up since I started this I've actually only traded 18 of those days as well and a fair few of them for a short space of time)
US Open has started as well today so hoping to make a few £ on it before the finish of it on Sun.

Well now that my internet seems to have settled down I will hopefully be able to start trading again now as it was fine for the races I did today, (getting 1.4meg as well which is a plus for what I'm used to), still very slow for most but it's amazing for my line.
Trading wise the day went fine with only 1 race which lost me money and that race I could of made a profit but I was slow on the trigger and by the time I placed my back bet the odds had fallen again so instead of a 50p profit I had a 50p loss but in the 11 races I did trade I got £5.69 so thats around 50p a race profit so although it's a very small amount it is allowing my bank to build up nicely.
Hopefully will get to trade most of the day tomorrow.

Well I changed over ISP's on Friday and the router they give you is shocking compared to the Belkin 7633 that I have and the o2 router was basically syncing at 0.3meg giving me a download speed of 0.2meg and leaving the noise margin at a stupidly high 19-20 (where as 6 before was very stable for me). eventually I've managed to get all the details I needed to use my Belkin router which has allowed me to manually bring down the noise margin from 19-20 to around 10 and allowed me to sync at around 1.3meg (although download speeds are around 0.2-0.5meg because the sync speed is much higher I should eventually get back to 1meg) which if I hadn't been able to change the SNR manually I would of been at .3 speed max. I did manage to place a few bets yesterday and made £50 using matched betting by laying a free bet I was given (after placing a £50 bet and laying that off as well) but as it was not trading I'm not including it. today I managed to make a small profit by using the bookmaking option in BetAngel on the Golf again (although I did stop after a short while as the refresh rates were poor due to my rubbish download speeds and so I didn't want to get caught out) what I did notice was that players can make big comebacks from stupidly high odds for instance I layed 1 player for 20p for odds of 990 so my liability was £197+ (well it wasn't as it was layed off elsewhere) but instead of laying that 20p off now I think I will just let it go for a while as the player made a comeback and his odds fell all the way back down to 3 so I could off layed off that profit for £100 instead of making just 20p (although TBH I would of prob laid off when it fell to 10ish but that still would of been around £20 profit). still hopefully I will be back up to full speed soon and able to trade and all in all I'm happy with the £3.79 profit as it again more than covers the BetAngel costs for the day.

For the 2nd day running I had a shockingly bad start after the first 3 races I was down over £2 which I got back in the 4th race of the day for a £2 profit, from then on I didn't have anymore losing trades for some reason it just seems to be the first couple of races.
Overall I managed to trade in 21 races (so pretty much a full race card), 2 of them were loses and the other 19 being profitable ones....although my daily profit looks a lot better thanks to the last 2 races where I got nearly £6 from them which was about 90% of the previous 19 races total profit, with the 2nd from last race being my biggest profit from a single race since starting this with a fine £4.73, this is also my best day profits wise trading on the horses, I trade much better than this every day though and like I said without the last 2 races I traded I would of had a very average day at best (considering how many races I did), anyway I'm actually enjoying making money from trading on the markets no matter how small and now that my bank is growing it is allowing me more money to back and lay and so make more profit which can only be a good thing.

Doubled my starting bank!!!!!!!

Well today was the day...... I've now doubled my starting bank of £150 and turned it into £300+ and in that time I've yet to have 1 losing day.
Trading wise with the extra money I got off to a shocking start losing 73p in the first race and then £1.40 in the 2nd leaving me over £2 down after 2 races so for the first time since the start I was beginning to question whether I could actually do this on a bigger bank, well in the 3rd race I traded it all clicked into place and I made £2.16 which just covered my 2 losing races from then on I made constant profits of around £1 a race which with my bigger bank will be the amount I will be aiming for.
Refresh wise both BetAngel and Betfair were OK for most of the time and only spiked once or twice a minute so was probably better than it has been for quite a while, lately I've not been doing many races because of the poor refresh rates so I'm hoping that I will once again be able to trade for most of the day (so prob not the best time to be moving ISP from Eclipse to 02 on Friday then but hey Eclipse were beginning to annoy me with there poor speeds), so hopefully tomorrow will be a full or near full trading day for me as when my ISP is changed on Friday the Internet will be off for a few hours and then I have the 10 day while it determines my line speed which normally knocks the Internet off every few hours in those first 10 days so I will no doubt have to trade less to begin with.

Well the delay on Betfair was much better today (as in there wasn't as many) although in the end I did only trade on 11 races I did get a healthy profit, in the 11 races I scratched on 2 and won on the other 9 so all in all the trading was good and I got 1/5th of the amount needed to pay BetAngel for another month just today, I'm also under £2 away from doubling my £150 bank that I started with in just 13 trading days (around 3 weeks overall).
I was going to purchase BetAngel for a year for £200 as that would save me around £13 a month on the current price but with £200 I'm currently making around 30p a race so after 44 races I will have made back that extra cost because it allows me to lay for more money.

Well I don't normally trade on a Sunday so decided to try a bit of the old bookmaking option in the Golf after last weeks success and have to say it went quite well again today even with the 3seconds or so delays (not including the 5second in play delay) I managed to come away with £10.31 profit for 5Min's or so work.
I will definitely look into this option more as I was wary of using it before as I lost £15 in one of the horse races because of a withdraw but in the Golf and TV shows etc I should be OK.

Well still the problem with Betfair and the slow response rates/times is happening which is really hindering my trading on the horses, I was told that Britain's got talent finished tonight and the market was in play and regularly going over 100% on the lay side which meant I could lay the whole market for a profit across the board (just like I did the Golf last week) so I was laying that a few times yesterday and ended up £35 across the board (with some in the £100's and half the market in the £1000's), although when it got close to the result the times got stupidly slow (over 11 seconds to place a bet) so decided to quit while I was ahead.
very happy with this bookmaking option though as it seems to work very well with in play events that don't change odds by a big amounts in the space of a few seconds (like horse racing) and most of the time all the selections will get matched almost right away and because a lot of the time the profit is 2%ish if there is 1 selection in the market I am waiting for (and the market is going against me) I can easily just move the odds to get matched and still get a profit (obviously less of one though).
very happy overall though that I've almost doubled my bank in the 11 days that I've traded, hopefully get to £150 and so doubled my bank by this time next week.

Well with Betfair still having rubbish refresh times/rates for bets etc I'm still not able to place many trades because of it so just have to settle for the odd 1 tick trades here and there, decided to end it after only 9 races as it was just getting stupid, still it all helps and hoping to get to £100 by Monday as I doubt there will be much trading going on as it appears no-one knows what the problem is yet.

Well the powercut didn't happen last week (when I was having all the problems) when I thought it would,today was the day for the powercut (so I wasn't that far out) although it happened about 10mins after my last trade so I was not in any of the markets which was very good and somewhat lucky.
Well it seems that my slow a$$ computer is not the only reason why I've had problems on Betfair as a number of people have reported problems with the refresh on Betfair, my times are around 100m/s and then suddenly it will spike at 2000+ for a while, which makes trading on the markets a right pain/risky.
Traded 10 races today with 1 loss and all the others being good trades (one trade on tennis as well) so all in all another good day considering, of course it more than covered the £1 it costs me for BetAngel for the day as well.

Well today was a very good day, I decided to trade on the Golf and saw a chance to use the bookmaking option in BetAngel to make a profit on the Golf as it often went over the 100% figure so I could make a profit on anything over 100% by laying the whole board, did it a fair few times and ended £53.25 not bad for a bank balance of just £160ish,I've been stung by the withdraws in the horses before but thought that people withdrawing from the Golf were unlikely to happen so gave it a shot and glad I did.

Well I've managed to make enough profit from trading on Betfair this month well the 8 days I've traded to pay for BetAngel for this month so I got that faster than I expected and *touch wood* I've yet to have a losing day even using this old PC(god I can't wait for my new system to arrive which should be on Tues).
Traded 8 races today and all were good ones for a profit of £5.32 which is pretty good considering the very small stakes, I've also had a quick trade on the Eurovision for an 80p profit as well as a trade on the Golf today but as it was done on the winner market and it doesn't finish till tomorrow I wont get it till then.

Well this PC is currently making trading almost impossible it's so slow and I can't catch the prices most of the time as the PC takes ages just selecting one thing on BetAngel so I gave up early, on the plus side though out of the 5 races I did all were positive ones and even better news my new quad core PC is due on Tues so thats a bonus (would of been Monday but it's a bank holiday), hopefully tomorrow I would of made the magic £29.99 to cover the price of BetAngel for this month.

Well I'm still not trading much due to the fact I'm using my slow system, although I've ordered my new Quad core system which has a due to be delivered on or before 3rd June so hopefully before.
Out of the 14 races today 2 were losses and the other 12 were good ones so that was quite good only downside was there was not very many big movers for myself so only took a tick or 2 profit on each race, although I've again more than covered the cost of BetAngel for today (and yesterday when I didn't trade).

Well today was actually quite a good day really when I consider I was still stuck using my old slow a$$ computer which sometimes freezes BetAngel for a few seconds, still I only did 9 races today so I'm more than happy with £5.14 as in the 5 days I've traded I'm already over halfway to paying for BetAngel for this months use, I'm actually very tempted to pay subscription for the whole year as instead of costing me £30 a month that I would need to get each month to break even it would actually be under £17 as it's only £200 for the whole year and I got to £17 after 4 days trading.
I'm also getting much better at catching the big drifters and in the last few days I've caught a few of them for £1-£3profits on just 1 race which when you consider I am currently only laying/backing with £2 it's pretty darn good going.

This is becoming a bit of a joke now, Betfair is currently down again (or as good as) just as I get a profit of £1.75 on the last race (not bad for only 2x £2 bets backing and laying) so I think I will retire from trading today and watch the rugby between Saints and Catalan. Out of the 21 races today 3 losses, 1 level and 17 in profit so again all in all trading wise a very good day the profits are low at the mo as I'm only backing and laying at £2 a time at the mo but as I get used to it and hopefully as my bank grows I will put more on and hopefully get more of a profit but today has easily paid for BetAngel for today (costs £30 a month so around £1 a day)
*update* I decided to trade again after the rugby match as Betfair seemed fine and I'm glad I did after winning another £3.33 in 3 races (well I got £3.08 in one race with a couple of inspired prices)

Well as expected the old system was shockingly slow compared to my system which gave up on me a few days ago so it took much longer to place some bets so I'm only placing a few bets a day for now as I lost on one of the races I should not as it went my way at the price I wanted but before I could place the bet my system froze for a few seconds and in that time it had gone down some ticks and left me in a negative position, overall though it went well with a positive amount on the day (small amount as normal but then again I am currently only backing and laying for £2 to get used to it and I'm currently up £9.64 which is an increase of 6.4% of my starting bank in 3 days but as I've said before I'll be more than happy to begin with for my trading to just cover the costs of BetAngel (in this case £30 for the month and I'm well on my way to achieving that this month) and at the moment I'm only trading on 1/3rd - 1/2th of all the races I could.
out of 11 races 1 loss 2 scratched 8 of them in profit so that's good and shows I seem to be reading the markets correctly most of the time.

Well I thought things could only get better but maybe not half way through the trading day yesterday my computer decided to freeze and there was a bang and smoke started to pour out of the side on the desktop with a burning (this is completly fooked) smell, which also took out the electrics, luckily I wasn't in any trades so called an end to the day and tried my very very old P4 2ghz computer which is sooooooooo slow it's crazy so I might knock the trading on it's head until I can get a new computer or at the very least I will be doing less trades unless the system works as fast as I like it to.

Trading wise the day went well I traded on 13 races lost on 2, level on 2, and was up on the other 9 leaving me a total of £3.92 up on the day, I can only wonder what's gonna give up on me tomorrow, my NAP is that it's a power cut for a few hours.

Well what a shocking start to this blog, a lot of my early trades today I had people putting fake/ghost money into my market and forcing the market the opposite way (seems to happen a lot more on the higher odds horses because there is less liquidity so they know they can get away with it), basically with a few minutes before the off I may of placed a Lay bet of 30 for £2 and get it matched and then suddenly out of nowhere £130 will appear on the back side (where as before it was going up in £5's etc) causing people to panic and close out there position at whatever price they can and watch it go on a big drift and if and when the price comes back down as soon as it gets close to the money again or some of it starts being matched they take all the money out of the market completely (checking the market before hand and after shows that £100 was not matched at that price when it left the market, I never noticed this before until I read about it but see it quite regular now) thankfully on all but 1 instance I managed to trade more on those races but I would of been up a lot more.
Not only that but around 18:45-19:00 I noticed on BetAngel my 2 lays that had not been matched were appearing and then disappearing in the market and before I realised what was happening Betfair was down, it did eventually come up 2-3 Min's before the race starts but people were obviously panicking and closing out there positions or placing a normal bet at whatever odds they could in case the site went down again so my lay price was taken as was as around 5 ticks below it, luckily I was able to trade out and scratch the trade I then decided that I would just watch the next race to see if the same thing happened and sure enough it did so I decided to give up for the day.
all in all I ended £2.35 up on the day so as long as it pays for BetAngel I don't mind, well TBH as I'm only just starting I don't mind having a few losing days.
